About shannondermott

Shannon Dermott is an author of young adult fictional stories.

Have No Mercy

Cambion Seriesv1

With determination that has no bounds, Mercy has set on a quest to make things right. Life is a journey and hers has been a bumpy road. None of that matters. She will have no mercy for anyone that gets in her way. No matter the price or at the cost of her own life, she will persevere.

Her actions may have caught up with her. Their consequences may be dire. However, thrust into another realm on a promise that seems meaningless now, she will find her heart in an unexpected place. Love will conquer all and the two will become one if they are all to survive.

Above the rest, one consequence however may derail her plans. The demon she freed with her dagger may prove to be more dangerous dead than alive.

P

Sometimes, I wonder how I got here. Like today. Where I am is still a mystery to me. Yet I must succeed on a quest if I am to find him, save him from a fate that wasn’t meant to be his but mine.

However, today, I’m put in a position to make a decision that isn’t my own. Yet I’m alone and out of options.

I can only hope he will forgive me, they will forgive me. I will do as I must to protect them both from all that I am.

I will succeed where others have failed or I will die trying. There isn’t hope unless I have faith that what I’m doing this time is right and true. I refuse to make the same mistakes as I have in the past. I must be true to my heart and true to the path laid in front of me. My soul no longer matters, my destiny already determined. And I will make this right. I will fix this.

Flynn and more…

Writing can be a lonely place. And at times, a difficult one. Right now I have a total of four completed stories in my head. If I could plug a thumb drive in my ear and simply hit download on the screen of my brain, Broken Lens, two new stories and the fourth Mercy novel would be complete. No editing would be required because in my head everything would download grammatically correct.

Unfortunately for me, it doesn’t work that way. And at times, I can’t bring myself to type the words. It’s not really writer’s block as I know what to say. But it’s something that prevents me from typing them anyway. Unlike some authors, I don’t have a strict regiment for writing every day. As much as I’ve tried to implement that policy, so far it hasn’t worked.

I must admit that I’m anxious to write the Mercy story. The way it’s unfolded in my head, Flynn is eager to get out and on paper.  And of course there are a few more surprises that should please some.

Flynn - character

However, I have 2 stories I must finish first. Liabilities is written and is begging me to finish the editing process. But Ethan has filled my thoughts the last two days. I’ve chosen Broken Lens to be my Nanowrimo story. For those that don’t know, it’s National Novel Writing Month, which is November.

TTL Cover 2

In two days, I’ve written over 13,000 words to what I’d already written. I know every word that needs to be written from start to finish. And I fear if I stop to work on something else, I’ll lose my momentum. Heck at the way I’m working, I could be finished by week’s end. But I’ll make no such promises. Want a teaser…

This book is written from Ethan’s POV (at least mostly).

gabriella @ Women

“You see Ethan, my lawyers assure me that this case will be dropped. The prosecution is not in the business of working on losing cases.”

There it was. I couldn’t stop the question in my head from tumbling from my mouth. “What does this have to do with me?”

“Everything,” he taunted.

Even though Ethan has consumed me, that doesn’t mean I don’t have Flynn, Luke, Sebastian, Paul, Keller, Turner, Kalen and Colton on my brain. Opps, did I mention Colton. Forget I said that. That’s for another time.

*Looks away because I’ve said too much.* 😉

(Change topic :))

So I wrote that POV of Flynn ages ago. And someone asked me about the next Mercy book on the Cambion’s group on Goodreads. I do try to pay attention and respond to questions and such on various media. For that reason, I’m taking this time to do a blog post which I haven’t done in forever and post this POV. So, you guys can thank Kelly. It was her kind words that took me out of Ethanville and back into Flynn Heights, lol. I’m a sucker for kind words.

broken lens

Anyway guys, no matter what book you are waiting for, I’m working on it in some way. Liabilities will be released this month if it’s the last thing I do. Broken Lens will be on its heels. Then, I’ll put all my effort into the next Mercy book. I do have the cover to share with you all, but another day.

Cover Reveal and Bonus

So, yeah, a lot going on. Quick update, Liabilities is still in editing for all those of you that have asked. Up next is Broken Lens and another project that I’ve been working on.

However, I’ve been dreaming in full color the next Mercy book. It’s pressing on my brain to release all the words locked up in my head. This next installment should be an adventure for sure. I think a ton of you will be happy.

So for those of you that loved Alliance here is the cover for Rogue.

Rogue_eBook10

And as a bonus, I’ve written a BONUS POV from AOM (and a teaser from Rouge) where one of the Alliance characters and Mercy meet up at a party.

Silence…

Silence is not always golden. I think I’ve finally done it with AOM. My WTF endings have finally silenced the crowd. Not sure how I feel about that. 😦

However, for those of you left stunned, I have a POV ready. I swear I promised one a while back but here it is.

Cover Revamp…

Broken Lens had a face lift.

TTL Cover 2

This book will be told from a different POV but furthering the story. I won’t say for those who haven’t yet Through the Lens yet. Please NOTE this is NOT a retelling of Through the Lens (TTL). This book moves forward from TTL which is Young Adult, to this book, which is New Adult where the characters are set in college.

The blurb is up on Goodreads. Enjoy.

Also the blurb for Liabilities is also posted on Goodreads. I forgot to mention that in the earlier post.

Next release….

Hey guys, I know I’ve been bad at posting POVs and other stuff. I’m so focused on all the projects that I’m working on. I’m bursting at the seems to tell you guys some of the things going on, but I’m relegated to silence for now.

I’m close on finishing Liabilities. I’ve been getting lots of questions about that book lately. I’m feeling good about this releasing on time or close to it.

sexy stylish topless couple lovers caucasian in silhouette on white background

I’ll have a giveaway with the release of Liabilities, second book in the Balance Sheet series. It’s going to be a different giveaway than I’ve done in the past. I’ll be releasing details soon. For those interested in doing blog post on Assets and getting an ARC for Liabilities, I’ll be posting a sign up sheet soon. Remember, this book isn’t YA and includes adult material.

The boys are also on my mind. The boys being Luke, Flynn, Sebastian and Paul. An exclusive POV is coming soon. I really need to get on top of that. 🙂

You guys are the best. Thanks for all the shout outs on Facebook and Twitter, it’s much appreciated. The best advertisement is word of mouth from faithful readers like yourself. You are the glue that keeps me writing. Thanks for everything.

ePiracy and Updates

As I continue to battle with ePiracy, I came across a site this morning that although is giving my book away for free had interesting words to say about me. Not sure if these same words are used for other authors whose books are being pirated but I thought it was interesting.

Here is what they said…

The author Shannon Dermott is famous for his unique style of narration. Best books of Shannon Dermott are read throughout the world. One person considers authors style as difficult, heavy to read and even mysterious, but the others think that some books are really light, amusing and lively. Shannon Dermott works explore the distinction between literature and literary commentator. The eBooks are written with the desire to stimulate readers emotions, and readers read to experience an affective charge. These best books are recommended to read by critics.

The literature is that magic key that opens the door of cognition of many spheres of human knowledge. It helps us to learn some interesting facts about t history, to know more about peoples life in another, and ebook of Shannon Dermott help us. Sometimes, while reading a ebook, we can analyze the actions of its characters and it helps us to draw some certain conclusion.

Shannon Dermott ebooks seem to be interesting for many people, because they introduce such a variety of topics and problems, which the writers did not refer to before. Many of the literary movements of the time the author lived in involve not only him, so the literature at the beginning of the century is considered unique throughout the world.

The Shannon Dermott is probably one of the most famous and most loved writers. The major themes of creation are nature, love, death and eternity, though she frequently uses humor, puns, irony and satire in her poetry. Ebooks are learnt and recited by many pupils and student.

Now we can suppose that that century literature consisted of various movements, reflecting beliefs and hopes at that time. Readers have studied them in more detail and demonstrated that the themes the writers and poets referred to are also important for a nowadays person.

Considering I’m not a he, I’m guessing this is a canned statement. But why advertise me or any author to give my books away? I’m not sure I’ll ever understand the people who do this.
Updates –
I’m in the middle of writing, thus I haven’t posted much lately. Sorry for that. Later this month there will be a POV from the Cambion series if I don’t post another earlier. I hope all is well with everyone.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased the audio version of Through the Lens.
Happy Reading everyone.

Through the Lens is now available on audio

BREAKING NEWS…. lol

Through The Lens, produced by Brick Shop Audio Books, is now available for sale on audible.com. It will be available through Amazon and iTunes within the next few days. Narrating the book is Erin Mallon. If you are an audio book listener, she also narrated the books Sweet Evil and Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins. Here is the link.

If you haven’t read Through the Lens, it’s a young adult contemporary romance about a girl who used to be overweight. She finds herself falling for the wrong guy and ends up with a murder at her throat. Okay, that’s probably not the best description. Here is the blurb from the book, lol.

Blurb:

Being a twin isn’t all that bad, nor is it all that good. Being the fat twin makes things a little worse. Seventeen year old, Jessa Shelby has been all but ignored. Trimmed down, but not skinny like her sister, she has decided to make her mark in her final year in high school. Things begin anew the summer before her senior year when she makes friends with Ethan Hart, a boy with a twisted past, and Allie, his near celebrity status girlfriend, while taking pictures with her new prized possession. Hanging out with them opened her eyes to a lot of new possibilities including Josh Macon, whom she’s secretly crushed on all through high school.

No longer the ‘fat girl’, Josh now seems interested in her too. Long before the day comes to graduate, Jessa finds herself gasping for air. With her vision clouded from tears born of pain as the straps from her precious camera tighten around her throat, clarity sets in. They say that just before you die your life flashes before your eyes. And on the threshold of death claiming her, she finds that partially true. Her flash begins as if to explain just how she ended up on Death’s door. With mere moments left, she has to wonder if trust had come at a very high price.

This book is a two parter. The second part will be released this year. It will be considered New Adult and not YA, like the first book. Just an FYI.

Updates and a POV

I hope everyone summer is going or went well. Mine has been busy, busy. Updates, writing is going slowly. I hope once school resumes, I’ll have more time to devote to writing.

Through the Lens, the audio book which is currently in the final stages of production, should be released fairly soon. Beg for Mercy, audio book, on the other hand has reached some stumbling blocks. Not sure how long the delay will be there. The producer of that book has had some set backs.

My VERY adult romance book received a cover update.

Assets F1

Pretty sexy huh? Hopefully, it will convey just how smexy the book really is, lol.  😉

But the real reason why I’m posting today is to release another POV from AOM. This one is dedicated to Suzanne. It is the prequel to AOM. Have you read the book and wondered what happened during those two weeks between WFM & AOM? Well, here is your answer. The POV ran longer than I intended, but what don’t I do for the fans of the Cambion series.
