The Show Must Go On

27 Oct

I’d really like to say thank you for all of you who have reached out to me this week via this blog, e-mail, twitter, goodreads, etc to lend your support.  As much as I was ready to throw in the towel and maybe a part of me still does, I also feel like the few should spoil it for the many.

So the show must go on.

I will finish AOM.  I’m not exactly sure if it will be the same way as planned, but I will finish it.  I’m also not sure what medium it will be released.  But I have time to figure that out.

As a thank you and the spark I needed, I wrote another POV.  This is for all those that did pay for BFM and WFM or borrowed it legally through Amazon or borrowed a paperback copy.

For those intent on posting my work and other author’s work on the web without permission, remember one thing called Karma.  One day, something may happen in your life that makes you say “Why Me?”  After you have that thought, remember all the things you did that came back to haunt you.

For those that “can’t afford a copy,” contact me.  I’ll get you a legal copy of the book if I can.  Maybe people wouldn’t post illegal copies of books if there weren’t people to read them, something to keep in mind.

Enough about that.

This POV is from WFM.  It’s the spark I needed to get me in the mood for AOM.

I hope you enjoy.

Good to hear that you are still going with AOM as we all are in need of that continuation! 😀 I can imagine that the path of the story is going to inherently depend of what the toll has taken from the aftermath of all this. Not to mention to one’s own feelings are usually undoubtedly placed within writing whether or not it is intentional.

I am eager to see/hear all that will happen with this path. Not just with the Mercy series, but what your plans will be with your writing status as it all continues…and after as well.

KARMA INDEED! HA! I believe that little section is going to haunt those in need of haunting. (Can’t get away from things reminding us of Halloween either, huh? I had wrote that sentence without any reference to Halloween intended.)

You are a very talented author Shannon and to top that off you are very committed to your fans. It is something to be proud of and I know that I am thankful. Hell, even just in this post you are telling fans that can’t afford the book to contact you to work something out! What authors do that now days?! Your one-on-one is so heartwarming!

I am looking forward to the POV read (I think I have two to catch up on actually), but I have papers to write tonight. So tomorrow! As Melanie mentioned this link is broken. However, I know it is on the Figment webpage cause I am following you and it is under your stories….so maybe just the wrong link?

Hope all is well and getting better. 🙂

Shannon, I am SO happy to hear this. I’m a big believer in karma so hopefully they’ll get theirs. Again, I’m really sorry that this happened to you and so many other authors out there. I know very little about epiracy tbh, but I find it hard to believe that nothing can be done about it. It’s awful.

I can’t wait for AOM and hope you’re not going to change from your original plan too much. Thanks for this awesome POV, you are wonderful. I’m not surprised your hubby thinks your writing takes up too much time, you must never stop lol. I’m not complaining though 🙂 Take care hun

Flynn never ceases to amaze me! I hope you keep on the same track with your books and know that we all love and hope you continue on the path you originally saw for your main characters. I recommend this series to everyone I know, and they all fall in love the same way!

I’m very sorry to hear that happened to you! I cant say I know how the feels or anything, it must be terribly upsetting but i am very thankful you are going on. Don’t let them stop you from your dream of writing all of the books you started/want to write. It happens to the best of authors. And movie directors…and like you said karma will come back for them! You are a great author. One of my favorites, I read alotttt. I have probably read about 15 books since I finished WFM yet I still go back to your stories and characters.. I love it and cant wait for more novels from you. Honestly. You’re awesome so head up, stand tall. And while hopefully people work harder to stop the ones illegally getting books, you do what you seem to love and be good at; writing your stories and making all your loyal fans fall in love even more. Also maybe my favorite quote that I have a tattoo of will give you some hope……’even in our darkest moments we must focus to see the light.’ *Hugs*

You guys are like the best. Words can’t express how much your kind words of encouragement pushed me over the edge of not giving up. It surely would have been easier too. I will continue to press on and hopeful I will find that fire I had before. Thanks Again. And love the quote Marissa! 🙂

Thanks for this POV. I love you Shannon and I love Fynn! It was so so saaaaaad!
I’m glad you decided to finish AOM! But first of all take care of yourself, we will wait as long as it takes. In the meantime we’ll buy Through the Lens and enjoy it like every book of yours 🙂
It will still be released in November though, right?

Yay! I am so glad you are planning to finish this series! I hope it helps with healing/closure. Take all the time you need for yourself, and we will be waiting (im)patiently for the final results!

Most of my friends are authors, composers, artists or teachers/professors. I talked about this situation with them over the weekend, and it was eye-opening how so many have gone through something similar.

Normally I prefer to buy only electronic copies of books (I average reading 3-5 books a week and I don’t need to be on an episode of Hoarders) but if this book only comes out in paper form, I will definitely be at the front of the line to purchase a copy of this and any future series you write. 🙂

I don’t know why anyone would steal a copy of your book! It’s worth more then what I paid for on my Kindle and I would pay $100 for Angel of Mercy( And I seriously doubt I’m the only one) My friend suggested I read BFM and actually put the sample on my Kindle for me. I finally got around to reading it 3 days ago and now I’ve read all 3 of the books available and all your extras on here(thanks so much for that BTW!!!!) I just might go crazy waiting for Angel of Mercy to come out but i will just have to read the others thru again and wait. I’m so glad you aren’t letting the acts of others stop you from doing what you’re good at!

I’m so glad to see that you’re going to continue on. I can only imagine what you’ve been going through. As a fan, I’m heart broken that this happens to amazing authors such as yourself more than we realize. 😦 I was devastated when you first posted about what happened. I cannot wait to read the POV you’ve posted and I cannot wait (however long that may be) to read AOM. You are awesome, your work is awesome, and we all love you ^_^

I’m so sorry that happened to you! That would be very discouraging. I’m glad you decided to go on with your writing. There are people that are honest out there and are here to support you. I, for one, have just discovered your writing, and have downloaded the 3 ‘Mercy’ books available for my Kindle. I’m really looking forward to ‘Through the Lens’, also.

Hang in there, Shannon, and keep doing what you love. Don’t let anyone stop you from living the life you want.

    Best wishes to you!
    Charli xoxo
