A song on repeat

Often when I’m writing or editing a story, a song gets played on repeat for what feels like hours to my family. I end up with earbuds in, listening to a song and soaking up the feeling I get from it. For today that song has been Lovesong (along with a few others), the cover performed by Adele.

During around the fiftieth time I listened to it, this POV forced itself on me until I wrote it. It’s quick. And I thought I would share it with you.

And btw, my writing partner came across this picture. She thinks this is Mercy. What do you guys think?

So here is the link for the POV.

Updates and New Cover

Okay, updates. I’m about five chapters away from finishing AOM. Are you excited? I am. It’s been a long journey but thanks to you guys’ encouraging words, I really found my voice again. I’ve been writing like a mad woman. All the words had been in my head. It was a matter of feeling up to typing them. So, once I finish, I’ll have to put the book down for a few days and then do a re-read before sending it out to editing. Fingers crossed. If I can finish in the next day or two, this book could be published by month’s end.

Broken Lens has not been put to paper fully. No one has read. Curiously, I have a rating on the book on Goodreads. I can only think that it’s accidental because no one has read but me.

Liabilities is up next because it’s shorter. Then I will probably finish the edits on Remember. Then finish writing Broken Lens. Sounds like a lot even to my own ears. In the meantime, my writing partner is editing Rouge. Hopefully, it will be ready for beta soon.

And I’m so excited about the audio version Beg for Mercy. We’ve settled on a narrator. She is awesome. I’ve heard all her voices for Mercy, Maggie, Flynn, Luke and Sebastian. Gosh, that Scottish accent is to die for. So hopefully, that will be done by July followed by Waiting for Mercy and Angel of Mercy.

Because of the upload problems with Alliance, the new cover is on Amazon and nowhere else. So here it is. It should be updated everywhere else soon.

Alliance_eBook2

You can read the first few pages via Amazon’s preview page or I think I have the first chapter’s posted on Figment. I have to run, but chat with you all later.

Oh Happy Day…

Oh happy day….

Well, something got publish thank goodness. And this book is a labor of love. Not only does it have my favorite character I’ve written in it, it also is the first time I wrote a book with someone else.

Ah yes, my lovely writing partner Danyele (danylelejohnson.com) and I decided to write a book together over a year ago. Now first off you should know we wrote and completed the first draft of this book around the time I was writing Waiting for Mercy. So honestly, it has had no real impact on the delay publication of AOM. So it’s not this books fault. In fact, the first draft of book two was written on the summer last year. So, again, that book didn’t have a whole lot of impact on AOM.

And I should also say, that I write a lot of different types of books that would appeal to a wide range of readers and not everything I write will appeal to everyone. I know some of you it will and that’s awesome.  I just want to warn you in advance that if you have a firm view against homosexuality, this isn’t the book for you. I’ll just state it like it is. I have really minor themes on gay relationships in my other books that wouldn’t bother most even if they don’t believe in that lifestyle. However, this book has strong themes in that area. Yet, that isn’t the whole point of this book either.

Alliance is a mature young adult paranormal romance/fantasy. This is strong foul language and sexual themes. Be warned. There is also as much action as there is romance. This story is told from the point of view of two best friends. Each have secrets they are hiding from the other, but one secret may tear their friendship apart. Meanwhile back at the ranch, sorry, I’ve always wanted to say that, and I quite delirious now out of tiredness…. what was I saying. Oh yeah, meanwhile, there is a war brewing that surrounds humans. Things like whether humans should know of supernaturals existence and if they should be enslaved. Yeah, there is a lot going on. There is a cast of characters that you will get to know really well over the course of the trilogy. But not all right away.

Not to give a whole lot away, but meet my Keller. (My writing partner found this picture and said she thought this was Keller and man I can’t say it isn’t a good choice.)

Keller

Keller Witmore is a bang ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. Seeing that he is an incubus, so you can hardly blame him. In all his seventeen years, he’s never had anyone, a mom nor a dad to show him what love means. No one except for Hudson, his best friend, his brother in every sense of the word except blood. Growing up in the boarding school for demon and angel Halves, he’s known no other life. But when a war brews and the campus is closed, he will find out a lot of things about himself, what he is, who he is and who he wants to become. When it’s all said and done, can he ever go back to the way things were?

Meet Hudson. (These are the updated pictures.)
ole 1 ole 5

Hudson Yarde’s life revolves around being Keller’s wingman, it’s a full-time job with both it’s perks and drawbacks. Drawn into the Keller’s antics since a young age, Hudson stays to protect Keller from himself, stays to hide in his shadows, away from the spotlight. He stays to keep his secret. For years he’s been waiting for his incubus nature to kick in but it hasn’t happened yet. A chance meeting, the impending of war and being freed from the judgment and rules, gives him the opportunity to be what he wants to be, himself.

Winning Cover

Together they leave for the human domain. Neither of them aware of the others secrets or of those around them. And for the first time, a gap could wedge between them, carved by the sharp knife of distrust. Lies of omission will draw a line between them at the dawn of the war over humanity.

So, give this one a try. IT should be on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I’ll post links in the morning, fix the Hudson pic and read through the POV I wrote for you guys. I’ll post that sometime tomorrow as well when I’m more coherent.

Chow (Ciao) for now.

Hang in there with me…

Writing AOM has been a long journey. Somewhere along the way, I’d lost steam because of the ePiracy. I can’t fully say that I’m that driven writer that I was before as ePiracy which continues to plague me and hundreds of other authors. And I would be lying if I didn’t admit it still affects me.

However, I am determined as ever to finish this series. I’ve come too far to not to. So what is taking so long? Many things, but I often wonder if I’m not procrastinating in small ways. As a reader too, I can say that that when things happen in a book with characters you have grown fond of, you often have a somewhat similar response to that event almost as much as a real life event would.

And I think that what happens in this book is making it hard for me to write. So why do it? Why write such events when technically I don’t have to? And it comes down to that is just how the story was meant to go. And I don’t see the story ever ending unless I stay true to it.

Alas, as I trudge along and try to finish this one, I thought I would write a POV. It’s been a while and you all continue to be so patient with me. This POV is told by Mercy. It was just easier to stay in her head seeing that I’m in her head right now. Maybe I’ll write it from the other POV at some point. Maybe. 😉

Thanks for being such loyal readers. It is your kindness, kind words, and encouragement that keep me going. Thanks for that.

A bit of Inspiration

Okay, so my mother has read Remember and Beg for Mercy. She liked Remember better but I won’t tell you guys why until after it’s released. I’ll let you guys make up your mind first. Okay, getting on topic, she was reading a book. (I got my love of reading from her) and I asked what it was. Turned out it was some steamy romance. So, I say steamy huh? And I asked her if she wanted to read my latest book. She was like “new book”, yikes, because I hadn’t told her about it. I mean who tells their mom about the kind of story I wrote unless you already have such a wide open relationship. Well, anyway, I let her read. At about 5%, she gives me the arch brow and says, HOT. At about 80%, she tell me, I didn’t know you knew all of that. Face Flame, lol, which is why you don’t let your mom read stuff like that. In the end, our topic of conversation has expanded. I’m not sure I’m embarrassed, horrified, or amused. Anyway, it’s good to know she’s given it her stamp of approval.

Next order of business. I’ve been slow about POVs. I’ve been focused on Mercy and the guys. It’s been hard to write a POV and take away time from AOM. However, a bit of inspiration came to me. So check this out.

Warning…. This is for mature audiences

So, yes, no joke, I have a book coming out in the next few days and it’s for adults. This is not intended for underage readers. This book contains explicit sexual situations. And after much debate, I went ahead and published it under my name. Hopefully, that is the right decision. Other authors such as Richelle Mead and Rachel Vincent have titles for both young adults and adults. So, there you have it.

And here is my first adult title. It is not paranormal, it’s more steamy romance.

The title is Assets and is part of a planned miniseries trilogy, Balance Sheet. (Assets #1, Liabilities #2 and Equity #3)

Cover Reveal

Assets (befunky.com)

Bailey Glicks, an accountant, is all too aware of her asset value. She’s pretty but not beautiful, smart but not a genius, and certainly she thinks she is more than enough for her fiancé. All that changes when she catches his cheating ass in a lie.

Needing to get away and start anew, she heads to New York to stay with her best friend and former college roommate, Lizzy who has more than enough space to accommodate her. What she didn’t bank on are two things.

First, Kalen Brinner, a man whose implied wealth and attractiveness on paper, shouldn’t be interested in her. But their combined sexual attraction sparks off like fireworks. Will it be enough to sustain a relationship, especially when circumstance makes one of them appear less than trustworthy? Can they survive the heat or will they combust in the flame of their own passion?

Second, when the assets in audit she’s working feel like they’ve been tainted with fraud; her supervisor isn’t buying her theory.

And if she’s wrong about either, both could make her lose big. One her heart.  The other her job.

This title will be available on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com on March 5, 2013. Keep and eye out!

A taste of Alliance

Winning Cover

Hey guys, so a lot of new things coming from me in the next few weeks. This is one of them.

Alliance is a MATURE YA (strong language and sexual situations warnings) PNR/UF story. It’s told from the POV of two guys. Keller and Hudson’s his best friend.

Book Blurb…..

WarningThis book is intended for mature audience. Excessive language and sexual situations may not be suitable for younger teens. This story also includes m/m romance.

Have no fear. I wrote this along with my co-author back when I was writing WFM, so this didn’t impact the delayed publishing of Angel of Mercy.  It’s will be released March 31, 2013.

I’ve posted the first chapter here…
