Ask and you shall receive….

Those puppy dog eyes get me everytime.  So, you asked and you shall receive.  Based on e-mails, facebook/twitter comments, reviews and goodreads post, you all want more POV from Flynn or Luke during the time when they knew Mercy.  So, I will give you what you want as an incentive when one of the following milestones is reached:

On Amazon.com:

Beg for Mercy gets either 100 reviews and/or 100 likes of that page. (The liked status is next to the # of reviews to the side of the picture of the cover of the book).

or

Waiting for Mercy gets either 75 reviews and/or 75 likes of that page.

or

No Mercy gets either 50 reviews and/or 50 likes of that page.

or

On barnesandnoble.com:

Released. Relax. Read.

Released. Relax. Read.

No Mercy, a short story told from the POV of Flynn and Luke from the Cambions series is available for purchase.  The boys finally have their say.  And boys will be boys.  Read to see just far they’ve come from this story to where they are now in Waiting for Mercy.  Although, I will say, I wouldn’t read until after you’ve read Waiting for Mercy.

I do have the cover and title for the next novel in the Mercy (Cambions) series.  I will post soon.  Until then, relax and read.  Summer is zooming by so fast.

A quick note…

A quick note….

When is the Cambions book three coming out is a popular question I’ve been getting a lot lately.  The answer is I have no firm answer.  Sorry.  😦   Hopefully, it be out later this year.  I’m waiting to get the cover from my graphic artist.  Once I have that, I will reveal it and the title.  By then, maybe I will have some insight into the release date.

I know. I can see Mercy with shock and disappointment that I’m not paying enough attention to her. My boys are a bit annoyed as well. Mercy has aggressively tried to assert herself in my writing time. It’s getting to become distracting.

In the meantime, I did finish the Flynn and Luke short story.  Although it is set prior to Beg for Mercy, I don’t suggest reading it until after Waiting for Mercy.  Characters from both books will be brought up in various ways.  It still has a bit more editing, but I should be posting the cover and a publication date soon.

And don’t forget Paul. I posted a bonus POV chapter for him.

Right now, I’m editing Remember.  It’s different from Mercy in almost every possible way, lol.  I hope you guys end up liking it.  It seems like I finished the first draft of it eons ago.  It’s been a labor of love that one.

Later!

Tuesday Nightmare

What do you do when your livelihood almost crashes.  And I don’t mean a car.  I mean, my freaking computer.  I didn’t get the blue screen of death.  Instead, I got the black screen of impending doom.  The message in white letters that stood out like little explosions read “Searching for Disk Error.”  To say my heart stopped for the minutes it took for the computer to scan itself is an understatement.

With my lips turning blue from lack of oxygen, I waited.  With my finger going numb from lack of use, I waited.  My brain replaying the last moments of every keystroke that would be lost if I had a system failure.  It was like my writer’s life flashing before my very eyes.

Would the readers mind if book three in the Mercy series was scrapped because I didn’t want to write it over?  Was this somehow payback for the cliffhanger I left Waiting for Mercy on, lol?

I needed an Angel of Mercy to save me and my computer because we were both going down.  My system check unperturbed by silent screams.  It took its sweet time scanning the hard drive.  58%.  I needed to breathe.  Air was a distant memory as my vision blurred.  I couldn’t loose everything.  Okay, so I did a back up, like two months ago.  Crap.  I needed to be more diligent.  Life does seem to get in the way.

61%, I claw at my throat hoping against hope that my Dell would live to see another day.

Was the short story of Flynn and Luke saved on the last backup I did????

69%, what the hell was taking so long.  ERROR detected flashed on the screen.  Holy moly!  Sucking in a first breath, I managed to see the message that something was deleted.  But I guess that would fix the system.  Hopefully, everything important was saved.

Time ticked away as I held that last breath.  72%, 83%, 94%.  ERROR!  I can hear the non-existent ringing like a meltdown at a nuclear power plant.  Oh, wait that’s my phone’s ringtone.  I ignore the call, it wouldn’t be important if my computer died.

Taking another breath, the system goes dark.  I missed what happened while I checked my phone.  Dying for a second time, I watch as my system re-boots itself.   Sighing a relief and breathing in precious air that should never be under appreciated.  Never to make the same mistake again, I quickly make a backup on an external hard drive saving everything.

Moral of the story  –  Make a back-up on a regular basis.  I was given a reprieve this time.  But things could have been catastrophic.  Things could have gotten ugly.  I say a silent prayer of thanks and pay it forward by sharing my story with you.  I can laugh about this now…..
